On Monday, May 22, Jeremy Burris was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle on MD Route 22 in Bel Air when he was struck by a Chrysler Pacifica that was attempting to navigate a turn in the area.

Investigators say that shortly after 9 p.m. on Monday night, state police troopers were called to a stretch of the roadway near Schucks Road where there was a reported two-vehicle crash with a motorcycle near Harford County Community College.

The investigation determined that the driver was heading west on Route 22 when the minivan took a left turn onto southbound Schucks Road. At the same time, Burris was heading down Route 22 in the opposite direction when he crashed head-on into the Chrysler.

It is unclear what caused the crash.

Burris was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel. The driver of the Chrysler remained at the scene to assist with the investigation.

The crash led to a closure of the roadway for several hours until it reopened early on Tuesday, May 23.
